Gualeguay FC's Ramiro Raymond got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clodoveo Nofre in the 18th minute of play forced Gualeguay FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Darien to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Oscar Beat put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Darien. Gustavo Darien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Beat in the 30th minute of play. Ramiro Raymond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Arturo Chorache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victorio Llorenc during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 45 played minutes Batea FC got a freekick which was hit by Victorio Llorenc. With a little luck, Batea FC's Arturo Chorache got control of the ball when Damian Chago tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Oscar Beat made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Oscar Beat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Darien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damian Chago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Arturo Chorache tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Batea FC's zone, Damian Chago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Chorache came out of the goal and Damian Chago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Batea FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Gavino Oro hit a great ball. If Damian Chago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Damian Chago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Chorache having to interfere. Gualeguay FC's Ramiro Raymond got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oscar Beat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 94 minutes into the game, Cornelio Mel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batea FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gualeguay FC the free kick. The supporters of Gualeguay FC booed when Batea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornelio Mel didn't get a good kick on the ball.
