Julian Olayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteve Rios in the 3rd minute of play. Salazar's Isaias Oriche got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Salazar's Isaias Oriche ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rodrigo Daunte. Rodrigo Daunte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Rodrigo Daunte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonides Gudesteo in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Salazar's Leonides Gudesteo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodrigo Daunte made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Salazar's Leonides Gudesteo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Candelaria getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Gaspar Fernanco hit a great ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Esteve Rios managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candelaria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteve Rios was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The referee showed Guillermo Umbruso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Salazar's Guillermo Umbruso got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Diego Paio hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Salazar could leave the field as winners, despite Candelaria having more of the ball for most of the match.
