An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Dalmau in the 4th minute of play forced Fenix FC's goalkeeper Tomás Lorenz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in La banda River Plate's zone, Arnoldo Lleir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ladislao Gil came out of the goal and Arnoldo Lleir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When La banda River Plate's Benicio Mannie in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 17th minute, Arnoldo Lleir got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Remigio Camerino came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Fenix FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Remigio Camerino couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Fenix FC booed when La banda River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Ourente didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Arnoldo Lleir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ladislao Gil was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 1-0 came through a penalty shot after 28 played minutes, when Fenix FC:s Jonas Iratzeder calmly waited for La banda River Plate:s goalkeeper to move before he rolled in the ball by the right post. 32 minutes into the match, Celso Nabar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ladislao Gil. La banda River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Nabar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Ladislao Gil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Nabar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Igor Dolcet took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ladislao Gil. Ladislao Gil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benicio Mannie made a kick off. If Benicio Mannie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 58 minutes, Silvano Eguzki mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La banda River Plate and the Fenix FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th match minute, La banda River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Eguzki to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Fenix FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jonas Iratzeder hit a great ball. If Benicio Mannie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. Ladislao Gil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenix FC. There was no doubt that Fenix FC were the better team. Fenix FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
