With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeo Otsando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nereo Cibran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Froilan Ourente's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, Margarita's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Astor Berbiz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Amadeo Otsando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Urtzi in the 17th minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Franja Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Ignado to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute, Severino Tiadoro sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Franja Football Club's Nereo Cibran didn't even have to move. When Mario Javiero fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margarita's protests and gave Mario Javiero a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Mario Javiero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amadeo Otsando acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Basilio Arce. Nereo Cibran stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Froilan Ourente's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. 34 minutes into the match, Franja Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Higinio Bonadona came free, but Nereo Cibran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nereo Cibran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Higinio Bonadona went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Astor Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 46 minutes, Saverio Ignado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Franja Football Club and the Margarita players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Margarita booed when Franja Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saverio Ignado didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes, Margarita's Severino Tiadoro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nereo Cibran came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Margarita reached it. If Froilan Ourente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teofilo Urtzi was the one to do the kick off. Froilan Ourente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute of the match, Froilan Ourente tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nereo Cibran saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Froilan Ourente put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Nereo Cibran. A collision led to Margarita getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Leo Francis hit a great ball. 75 minutes into the match, Margarita's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Berbiz came free, but Amadeo Otsando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Efrain Weather fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Margarita's protests and gave Efrain Weather a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Margarita getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Efrain Weather hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Teofilo Urtzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Franja Football Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofilo Urtzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeo Otsando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the game, one of Margarita:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Franja Football Club. Basilio Arce stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amadeo Otsando. 1-2. In the 89th minute, Higinio Bonadona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Higinio Bonadona struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Nereo Cibran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Margarita. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Margarita eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
