After 18 minutes, Hector Abel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chapanay FC and the Lehmann players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hector Abel hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. If Armando Ihintza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Chapanay FC booed when Lehmann was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Betadur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulises Primo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Irrintzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lehmann's Ulises Primo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Abel in the 35th minute of play. Ulises Primo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentino Cresencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 43rd minute, one of Chapanay FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Chapanay FC. Esteve Guzman placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
