Jeronimo Iyan's late challenge caught a Verónica FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeronimo Iyan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th match minute, El Fortin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeronimo Iyan to maneuver through the defense. In the 49th minute of the match, Clodoveo Frisco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Carlos Vasconcelos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.
