A wasted opportunity for Calchaqui. 15 minutes into the game, Hermengildo Beremundo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El decano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calchaqui the free kick. After 15 played minutes El decano got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Beremundo. Omar Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Omar Batistuta in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alejandro Sustrai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute Alberto Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejandro Sustrai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Hermengildo Beremundo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El decano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermengildo Beremundo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timoteo Chinto during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El decano getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Timoteo Chinto hit a great ball. Ovidio Perrando kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, El decano's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Batistuta came free, but Alejandro Sustrai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute of the match Calchaqui got a corner. El decano's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Artemio Elivareo ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Calchaqui's corner Artemio Elivareo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alejandro Sustrai quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, El decano's Alejandro Sustrai got control of the ball when Honorio Harkaitz tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Alejo Hibai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute of the match, Omar Batistuta tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alejandro Sustrai saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

After 54 played minutes El decano got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Perrando. 59 minutes into the game, Eusebio Ordono was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El decano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calchaqui the free kick. Eusebio Ordono kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. When Omar Batistuta came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Calchaqui fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Batistuta couldn't finish the play. When Eusebio Ordono was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, El decano's Eusebio Ordono got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 74th minute, Arsenio Belmiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alejandro Sustrai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Batistuta in the 89th minute of the match. Alejo Hibai's late challenge caught a Calchaqui's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alejo Hibai helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to El decano getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Alejo Hibai hit a great ball. With 92 minutes on the clock, Teo Salvino commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Calchaqui had played much better football throughout.
