Carlos Erroman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Benitez having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Osvaldo Vasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candelaria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Vasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Benitez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Severo Guerau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Erroman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ivan Benitez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bernardino Pasqual's late challenge caught a Candelaria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardino Pasqual helped the player get up and apologised. Bernardino Pasqual kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Honorio Lorenz took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 32nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ivan Benitez. The crowd rose to their feet as Severo Guerau kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Venancio Ihazintu. That made the score 1-1 in the 38 minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Zonda's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Erroman came free, but Ivan Benitez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Osvaldo Vasco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldo Vasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Benitez having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Erroman to strike the kick off in the second half. Osvaldo Vasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Ivan Benitez made a huge save. Venancio Ihazintu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Dalmai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute of the match Honorio Lorenz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Benitez skillfully saved the ball. Carlos Erroman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 60th minute, Agustin Che hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Candelaria FC's Carlos Erroman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Benitez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Erroman had several of the Zonda's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Ivan Benitez as he didn't even see the shot coming. Zonda's Gregorio Dalmai got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Erroman in the 91st minute of play forced Zonda's goalkeeper Ivan Benitez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Candelaria FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
