Independencia's Mariano Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santiago Castel in the 10th minute of play. If Saturnino Ermengol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, Saturnino Ermengol dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mariano Carlomagno, 2-0. Teodoro Burutzagi charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teodoro Burutzagi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Humberto Giraldo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Mariano Carlomagno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for tano juniors. But to his dismay, Epifanio Basajaun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 33rd minute Jeremias Venceslas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilfredo Arano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Epifanio Basajaun got free with Wilfredo Arano in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Saturnino Ermengol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Carlomagno having to interfere. Mariano Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesar Firmin in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the tano juniors defense, Teodoro Burutzagi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfredo Arano. The tano juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfredo Arano should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Independencia's Ceferino Haritz got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mariano Carlomagno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Castel in the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, one of Independencia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Independencia. Epifanio Basajaun kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Mariano Carlomagno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Ermengol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilfredo Arano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Epifanio Basajaun in the 91st minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Humberto Giraldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. tano juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independencia the free kick. Independencia's Benedicto Darien shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 93rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wilfredo Arano but with some difficulty.
