Byron Bay City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crucesita the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Byron Bay City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Paez to maneuver through the defense. Teobaldo Pio hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Honorio Bras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Gau having to interfere. When Aquiles Casado fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crucesita's protests and gave Aquiles Casado a yellow card for diving instead. Aquiles Casado kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Honorio Bras might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Gau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Honorio Bras ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute, Guido Botello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alsan Koehler was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 38 played minutes Crucesita got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Brion. Honorio Bras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 minutes, Teobaldo Pio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crucesita and the Byron Bay City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Honorio Bras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roman Gau was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Edelmiro Aragones scored 1-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roman Gau, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Honorio Bras to strike the kick off in the second half. If Edelmiro Aragones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Honorio Bras in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roman Gau prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Crucesita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edelmiro Aragones was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.
