The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Boca's Abel Chico got a free kick in the 7th minute. Tomás Guillelmus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mauro Quin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blas Toli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Erasto in the 17th minute of play forced Boca's goalkeeper Mauro Quin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Reynaldo Primeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Bernebe in the 40th minute of play forced Coronel Aguirre's goalkeeper Tomás Guillelmus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boca's Mauro Quin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Boca from getting a goal against them. After the first half Boca were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blas Toli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Arsenio Gergori cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mauro Quin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Blas Toli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coronel Aguirre's Tomás Guillelmus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Coronel Aguirre from getting a goal against them. 81 minutes into the match, Coronel Aguirre's goalkeeper Tomás Guillelmus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Bernebe. Boca's Leopoldo Bernebe got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blas Toli in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Quin saved Boca from getting behind. After 93 minutes, Andres Erasto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coronel Aguirre and the Boca players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andres Erasto hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Coronel Aguirre's Tomás Guillelmus got control of the ball when Leopoldo Bernebe tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Coronel Aguirre booed when Boca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Maurin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
