The supporters of Sepultura booed when Union de Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Gorri didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ceferino Dacio fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sepultura's protests and gave Ceferino Dacio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Union de Santa Fe booed when Sepultura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ceferino Dacio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 9 played minutes Union de Santa Fe got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Bazkoare. Eloy Rami was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Raimundo Izotz. Federico Fidencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Ekialde, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 22nd minute Samuel Erasto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Fidencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Evangelista kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 30th match minute, Sepultura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ceferino Gaizko to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Sepultura's Freddy Etxekopar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eloy Rami. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. Samuel Erasto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Fidencio having to interfere. Federico Fidencio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pastor Ekialde in the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pastor Ekialde in the 45th minute of play forced Sepultura's goalkeeper Federico Fidencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ceferino Gaizko made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Union de Santa Fe's goal looked a bit too open when Ceferino Gaizko came free, but Eloy Rami reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pastor Ekialde during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd match minute, Union de Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pastor Ekialde to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Marco Evangelista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sepultura's Marco Evangelista quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lázaro Pedroso, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Freddy Etxekopar kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 68 played minutes, Union de Santa Fe's Ladislao Gorri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Federico Fidencio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Union de Santa Fe reached it. Union de Santa Fe's attentive Manolo Antecha managed to snatch the ball when Marco Evangelista made a throw-in in the 71st minute of the game. Pastor Ekialde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Federico Fidencio having to interfere. Eloy Rami stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ceferino Gaizko's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. The supporters of Sepultura booed when Union de Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Tavio didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ceferino Dacio was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. After 80 played minutes Sepultura got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Dacio. Segundo Erlantz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eloy Rami read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Segundo Erlantz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sepultura's supporters rose to their feet, but Segundo Erlantz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eloy Rami breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Segundo Erlantz might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eloy Rami. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Segundo Erlantz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 91st match minute, Union de Santa Fe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Ondino to maneuver through the defense. Segundo Erlantz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Eloy Rami tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Pastor Ekialde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Sepultura could leave the field as winners, despite Union de Santa Fe having more of the ball for most of the match.
