The audience was convinced that Manuel Hartz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Freddy Crispo was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Manuel Hartz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Freddy Crispo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Cidro in the 10th minute of play forced Riachuelo's goalkeeper Freddy Crispo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saul Bilintx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ismael Lando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Gabrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Cidro in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Crispo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Lando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saul Bilintx in the 30th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Hugo Cidro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papin's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Cidro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddy Crispo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manuel Hartz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Freddy Crispo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 36 played minutes Riachuelo got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Eskuin. 39 minutes into the match, Manuel Hartz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Freddy Crispo. Riachuelo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Hartz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Papin's Manuel Hartz got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Papin booed when Riachuelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Astudillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Hugo Cidro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Papin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Cidro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Adrian Gabrio made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Riachuelo's Generoso Urtsua got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Manuel Hartz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Adrian Gabrio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ismael Lando having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Cidro in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Crispo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Papin's Ismael Lando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saul Bilintx in the 66th minute of play. If Saul Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Modesto Virila kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Ismael Lando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Gabrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Hugo Cidro took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Freddy Crispo to make any attempt to save it. Generoso Urtsua kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. If Saul Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Adrian Gabrio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Cidro struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Freddy Crispo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Papin. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Papin had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
