Uturango's Lorenzo Luzea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Behe in the 6th minute of play. After having played for 7 minutes, Astor Tulio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Papin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Astor Tulio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonatan Otoniel struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Pedro Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uturango. Pedro Barros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonatan Otoniel went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Papin booed when Uturango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Garaile didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes, Uturango's Benicio Tavio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Barros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uturango reached it. After 33 played minutes Papin got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Ihintza. Uturango's Jonatan Otoniel got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guillermo Bermund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Pedro Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Guillermo Bermund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Uturango booed when Papin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Inguma didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonatan Otoniel made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, Uturango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Austin to maneuver through the defense. Astor Tulio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Papin's zone, Guillermo Bermund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Barros came out of the goal and Guillermo Bermund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonatan Otoniel in the 64th minute of play forced Papin's goalkeeper Pedro Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenzo Luzea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Tulio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Isidoro Behe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Barros came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Uturango's Guillermo Bermund. But to his dismay, Guillermo Bermund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Pedro Barros came out of the goal and Guillermo Bermund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Papin's Candido Gauargi got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 84th minute Jonatan Otoniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uturango's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
