With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisito Jorrin in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascual Nardo saved Valle del Dragón F.C. from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Arnaldo Ieltxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 24 minutes, Jonas Estebano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio de la Plata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Estebano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pascual Nardo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santo Ovando's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 31st match minute, Valle del Dragón F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernabe Carlomagno to maneuver through the defense. If Jonas Estebano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Jonas Estebano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Pascual Nardo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Santo Ovando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Jonas Estebano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Pascual Nardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Rio de la Plata were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Arnaldo Ieltxu made the kick off in the second half. Santo Ovando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pascual Nardo having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Santo Ovando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pascual Nardo was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. 59 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Ieltxu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Inocencio Fonso. Rio de la Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnaldo Ieltxu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Antonio Gauargi kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Rio de la Plata's Inocencio Fonso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Ieltxu in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Arnaldo Ieltxu put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Inocencio Fonso. Inocencio Fonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Ieltxu in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Valle del Dragón F.C. getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Evelio Hug hit a great ball. With his leg Pascual Nardo managed to avoid a goal in the 86thth minute, when Rio de la Plata's Jonas Estebano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Rio de la Plata players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
