In the 4th match minute, Calchines AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clodoveo Jatsu to maneuver through the defense. Efrain Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Lucio Elodio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abelardo Jaume was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Lucio Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Jaume having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Elodio in the 20th minute of play forced Calchines AFC's goalkeeper Abelardo Jaume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot by Augusto Edwardo from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Abelardo Jaume's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, Calchines AFC's Clodoveo Jatsu got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Elodio in the 36th minute of play forced Calchines AFC's goalkeeper Abelardo Jaume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 37 played minutes Calchines AFC got a freekick which was hit by Clodoveo Jatsu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Bilbo in the 39th minute of play forced Verna AFC's goalkeeper Jaime Tello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Efrain Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaime Tello having to interfere. Gaston Bilbo scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jaime Tello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Efrain Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Calchines AFC's Gaston Bilbo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jaime Tello. That made the score 0-3 after 53 minutes of play. German Sansone charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed German Sansone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Verna AFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. German Sansone hit a great ball. The long shot by Hector Chumo in the 57th minute really tested Jaime Tello's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 59th minute Gaston Bilbo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Tello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Tello made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Efrain Abreu sent off a good shot on target. Abelardo Jaume made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Santo in the 72nd minute of play. Jaime Tello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clodoveo Jatsu in the 80th minute of play. Jaime Tello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clodoveo Jatsu's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Abelardo Jaume made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Elodio in the 82nd minute of play. German Sansone hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Verna AFC's zone, Gaston Bilbo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaime Tello came out of the goal and Gaston Bilbo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lucio Elodio struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Abelardo Jaume didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verna AFC. Paulo Lazcano's late challenge caught a Verna AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Lazcano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Paulo Lazcano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Verna AFC's Ciro Dolfos in action when he in the 97th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Calchines AFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
