After 9 played minutes, Universitario de Tandil's Einar Põld shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anibal Reynardo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Universitario de Tandil reached it. In the 11th minute Braulio Lia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Víctor Javier Domínguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Henrico Ortega ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anibal Reynardo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 15th minute, Gaspar Blasi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Víctor Javier Domínguez was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Braulio Lia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Braulio Lia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 22nd minute, Desaguadero FC's Braulio Lia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Anibal Reynardo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrico Ortega's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Gaspar Blasi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Reynardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaspar Blasi scored 2-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anibal Reynardo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 31 minutes, Fidel Kimetz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Universitario de Tandil and the Desaguadero FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Universitario de Tandil's Fidel Kimetz got a free kick in the 31st minute. After some careless play in the Desaguadero FC defense, Henrico Ortega kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anibal Reynardo. The Desaguadero FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anibal Reynardo should have stopped the shot. Universitario de Tandil's Henrico Ortega got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Blasi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anibal Reynardo was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The Desaguadero FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Universitario de Tandil were winning 2-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Braulio Lia to make the kick off. When Gaspar Blasi came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Universitario de Tandil fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Universitario de Tandil booed when Desaguadero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Lia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 70th play minutes Gaspar Blasi shot 2-6, a short shot which went by Anibal Reynardo and just under the crossbar into goal. Universitario de Tandil made a substitution. Maik Sawitzki replaced Gaspar Blasi. In the 79th minute of the match Einar Põld shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anibal Reynardo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Anibal Reynardo was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Maik Sawitzki capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maik Sawitzki really showed his touch with that goal: 2-8. After 83 played minutes Desaguadero FC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Muno. After 84 played minutes Universitario de Tandil got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Acuña. 89 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Universitario de Tandil's Henrico Ortega fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 95 played minutes, Universitario de Tandil's Einar Põld shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anibal Reynardo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
