After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Abel James managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marini's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel James was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerardo Chus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Tapalqué FC's zone, Abel James stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Chus came out of the goal and Abel James tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Robustiano Cayo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Tiniebra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Chus having to interfere. The referee showed Arnoldo Reno the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Marini got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Reno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angel Tiniebra in the 67th minute of play forced Tapalqué FC's goalkeeper Gerardo Chus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Tapalqué FC's Gabriel Xabat threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Robustiano Cayo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Abel James had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tapalqué FC's goalkeeper Gerardo Chus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
