Sunchales FC's Edelmiro Sendoa got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adan Aznar hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Aaron Montrelle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Galeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Nieto's goalkeeper Luis Tino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Sunchales FC's Luciano Marcones got control of the ball when Aaron Montrelle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benjamin Galeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luciano Marcones having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edelmiro Sendoa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edelmiro Sendoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Tino having to interfere. When Baldomero Orlanda fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sunchales FC's protests and gave Baldomero Orlanda a yellow card for diving instead. Luis Tino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Sendoa in the 78th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Sunchales FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Ishmael. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Galeno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luciano Marcones was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 84th minute, Lino Lluques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aaron Montrelle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Nieto lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
