The audience cheered loudly when Melchor Marin's long shot in the 9th minute became 1-0 when the ball went to the left of and passed Melquiades Frasco. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luis Celipe during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute, Basilio Ur got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cipriano Errolan hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes Higuera got a freekick which was hit by Luciano Rosalio. If Basilio Ur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Errolan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Tavio having to interfere. Basilio Ur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Higuera's Ricardo Heriberto got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basilio Ur in the 42nd minute of play forced Higuera's goalkeeper Felipe Tavio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felipe Tavio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Errolan in the 45th minute of the match. If Basilio Ur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Basilio Ur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Higuera's Ricardo Heriberto got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ricardo Heriberto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute Ricardo Heriberto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melquiades Frasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipriano Errolan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Felipe Tavio having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Eduardo Lauro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Higuera's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Lauro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melquiades Frasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduardo Lauro in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melquiades Frasco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Eduardo Lauro sped through Canquel's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Melquiades Frasco. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basilio Ur got free with Felipe Tavio in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Basilio Ur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felipe Tavio having to interfere. With a little luck, Higuera's Felipe Tavio got control of the ball when Basilio Ur tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, Higuera could leave the field as winners, despite Canquel having more of the ball for most of the match.
