The referee ignored Quiñihuao FC's protests and gave Marco Hotz a yellow card for diving instead. Fabian Rayman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Quiñihuao FC's Marco Hotz got a free kick in the 15th minute. Fabian Rayman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Ofelio, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. A collision led to Quiñihuao FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Hugo Gimenez hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Victoriano Gaztea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Rayman was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. But to his dismay, Dario Ofelio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 34th minute, Froilan Guipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabian Rayman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Gaztea in the 38th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victoriano Gaztea to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Hipolito Odol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arminda AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Quiñihuao FC the free kick.
