With a left leg Higinio Mendez saved Quijano from getting behind. If Patricio Gitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Juvenal in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Higinio Mendez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 7th minute Patricio Gitano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Mendez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Felipe Urtsua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Vicente Monte fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Horquilla AFC's protests and gave Vicente Monte a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Quijano booed when Horquilla AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Monte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blas Senen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardino Gines in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Quijano's Damian Kaxen got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 28th minute, Daniel Juvenal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Juvenal who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Higinio Mendez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 32nd match minute, Quijano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Hanni to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Quijano getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Narciso Fix put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Higinio Mendez. Jorge Harriet was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 66 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, one of Horquilla AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Horquilla AFC. The excitement rose when Quijano's Bernardino Gines after 69 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Horquilla AFC's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-1. In the 77th minute, Narciso Fix ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Higinio Mendez was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. 81 minutes into the game, Damian Kaxen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Quijano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horquilla AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Quijano's Damian Kaxen got a free kick in the 81st minute. Patricio Gitano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Higinio Mendez having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Cristobal Raymundo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Horquilla AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristobal Raymundo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Higinio Mendez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Patricio Gitano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Higinio Mendez was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Guillermo Piearres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Blas Senen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. If Narciso Fix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Horquilla AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
