Raul Bastia might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvano Refugio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raul Bastia ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 8th match minute, Cabana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Pasqual to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute, Urbano Nesor made a precise shot to the right of Silvano Refugio. Cabana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. If Romulo Gitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Rivadavia's goal looked a bit too open when Angel Honrio came free, but Cristobal Montay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Angel Honrio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Rivadavia's zone, Angel Honrio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristobal Montay came out of the goal and Angel Honrio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Cabana booed when Rivadavia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marciano Sanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Honrio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romulo Gitano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Montay having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raul Bastia to strike the kick off in the second half. If Romulo Gitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Rivadavia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Basilio Atauri hit a great ball. In the 59th match minute, Cabana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Abadia to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romulo Gitano in the 65th minute of play forced Rivadavia's goalkeeper Cristobal Montay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angel Honrio in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cristobal Montay, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Urbano Nesor came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Rivadavia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Urbano Nesor couldn't finish the play. Cabana's Romulo Gitano got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristobal Montay was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Romulo Gitano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Romulo Gitano really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. If Romulo Gitano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Honrio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Montay having to interfere. In the 92nd minute, one of Cabana:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cabana. When Romulo Gitano fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cabana's protests and gave Romulo Gitano a yellow card for diving instead.
