The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Cuipán FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Monteverde:s goal. The referee gave Monteverde a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Palban, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cuipán FC's Guillermo Odon. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Uriel Gaspard notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Cuipán FC's Guillermo Odon. Guillermo Odon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 23rd minute Uriel Gaspard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Odon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Cuipán FC got a freekick which was hit by Julio Ariando. Uriel Gaspard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guillermo Odon having to make a save. When Ciro Quintun came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Cuipán FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Quintun couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cuipán FC's zone, Amadeo Chayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillermo Odon came out of the goal and Amadeo Chayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeo Chayo in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guillermo Odon saved Cuipán FC from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciro Quintun was the one to do the kick off. Apolo Gaitano charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Apolo Gaitano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Apolo Gaitano hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 59 minutes, Jesus Calvino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cuipán FC and the Monteverde players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 59 played minutes Cuipán FC got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Calvino. Guillermo Odon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uriel Gaspard, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Guillermo Odon didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 66th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. After 78 played minutes Monteverde got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Enmanuel. Amadeo Chayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Odon having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Monteverde got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Enmanuel. Evaristo Erramu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 84th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Angelino Firmo. Monteverde's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Angelino Firmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Quintun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciro Quintun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Angelino Firmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Apolo Gaitano came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Cuipán FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Gaitano couldn't finish the play. Guillermo Odon made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Amadeo Chayo sent off a good shot on target. Prudencio Tadzio's late challenge caught a Monteverde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Prudencio Tadzio helped the player get up and apologised. Monteverde's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
