Victorio Ramirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Evaristo Tonete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Emanuel Todor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 11 minutes, Saturnino Jaen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unión FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Jaen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Unión FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Saturnino Solustiano hit a great ball. Mayo FC's Joel Onofre shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 21st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Evaristo Tonete but with some difficulty. Mayo FC's Isidro Lertxun got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th minute Emanuel Todor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Indalecio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Lázaro Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saturnino Jaen in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Segundo Indalecio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Segundo Indalecio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Jaen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the game, Julian Mingo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mayo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unión FC the free kick. After 47 played minutes Mayo FC got a freekick which was hit by Julian Mingo.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saturnino Jaen to make the kick off. Emanuel Todor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Segundo Indalecio made a huge save. Julian Mingo was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Julio Policarpio was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 63rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Saturnino Jaen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Emanuel Todor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Segundo Indalecio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Todor got free with Segundo Indalecio in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 86 minutes, Saturnino Jaen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
