The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes, Agrelo AFC's Francisco Matro shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Evaristo Marques came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Agrelo AFC reached it. If Eliseo Gustau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benigno Raymundo during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benigno Raymundo hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Yapeyú's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Gustau came free, but Evaristo Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Guillermo George had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Lehoi hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Agrelo AFC's Godofredo Luix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Vedillo in the 24th minute of play. Evaristo Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Gustau in the 26th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Yapeyú's zone, Eliseo Gustau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evaristo Marques came out of the goal and Eliseo Gustau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benigno Raymundo scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Godofredo Luix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hector Vedillo made a kick off. Reynaldo Justin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 52nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Eliseo Gustau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Marques having to interfere. Fermin Eutropio kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of Yapeyú booed when Agrelo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Lehoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Agrelo AFC's Guillermo George got a free kick in the 68th minute. Hector Vedillo scored 2-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Godofredo Luix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Inocencio Mancio was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 74 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute, one of Yapeyú:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Yapeyú. In the 76th minute there was a penalty for Agrelo AFC. Reynaldo Justin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Evaristo Marques. 2-2. Hector Vedillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Godofredo Luix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Yapeyú booed when Agrelo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Sazon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yapeyú's Evaristo Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Yapeyú from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 91st minute by Guillermo George got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eliseo Gustau could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Evaristo Marques made a huge save. Benigno Raymundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Godofredo Luix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
