Rosendo Servando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Bermudo having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Metegol's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Nayely came free, but Niceto Peru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rosendo Servando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octavio Berbiz kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Evaristo Txema managed to get in a good position for a shot. Metegol's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Txema was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Bermudo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hermengildo Columbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Metegol booed when Miramonte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Enekoitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermengildo Columbo couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute, Silvano Baumer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Niceto Peru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernan Nayely in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Evaristo Txema to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Enekoitz in the 52nd minute of play forced Metegol's goalkeeper Niceto Peru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Evaristo Txema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute.
