Zeledon Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Enrique Chinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 6 played minutes Legendarios got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Oliverios. 10 minutes into the match, Zeledon Mateo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enrique Chinto, 1-0. Zeledon Mateo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Enrique Chinto came out and tried to block the shot, but Zeledon Mateo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 16th minute. Enrique Chinto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delmiro Federigo went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Haroldo Norino came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Independencia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Norino couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Legendarios's Zeledon Mateo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Enrique Chinto. That made the score 4-0 after 25 minutes of play. 32 minutes into the match, Legendarios's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Norino came free, but Andrzej Majewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artemio Handi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Enrique Chinto made a huge save. Arturo Lazcano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Mateo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Enrique Chinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Arturo Lazcano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd match minute, Independencia AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Firme to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zeledon Mateo to make the kick off. Enrique Chinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Mateo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute, Zeledon Mateo made a precise shot to the right of Enrique Chinto. Independencia AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Zeledon Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legendarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Mateo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enrique Chinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Delmiro Federigo charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delmiro Federigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Arturo Lazcano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Chinto having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Zeledon Mateo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Chinto. Independencia AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zeledon Mateo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. A collision led to Independencia AFC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Amadeo Firme hit a great ball. 83 minutes into the match, Zeledon Mateo notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Independencia AFC's Enrique Chinto. Enrique Chinto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alejandro Guilabertus struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Enrique Chinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legendarios. Zeledon Mateo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 90 minutes, Baltasar Valery mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independencia AFC and the Legendarios players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baltasar Valery kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Zeledon Mateo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legendarios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Mateo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Independencia AFC's Enrique Chinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Mateo in the 96th minute of play.
