Agustin Lluis struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Severiano Merexildo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jáuregui. Jáuregui's Marcelino Mancio got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hipolito Lluciano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Melquiades Tomi went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Siro Roano charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Siro Roano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Siro Roano kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Melquiades Tomi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hipolito Lluciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Etxekopar in the 24th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tomas Etxekopar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hipolito Lluciano was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Lescanos's zone, Agustin Lluis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severiano Merexildo came out of the goal and Agustin Lluis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Lluis in the 35th minute of play forced Lescanos's goalkeeper Severiano Merexildo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustin Lluis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Lescanos getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Ceferino Nabar hit a great ball. After 40 minutes, Angel Oihenarte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jáuregui and the Lescanos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jáuregui's Angel Oihenarte got a free kick in the 41st minute. Jáuregui's Marcelino Mancio got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agustin Lluis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Merexildo having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Etxekopar was the one to do the kick off. Hipolito Lluciano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Melquiades Tomi in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Marcelino Mancio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Severiano Merexildo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelino Mancio in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Severiano Merexildo saved Lescanos from getting behind. Severiano Merexildo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Lluis in the 63rd minute of the match. Melquiades Tomi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hipolito Lluciano having to interfere. If Tomas Etxekopar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Lescanos's goal looked a bit too open when Agustin Lluis came free, but Severiano Merexildo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ceferino Nabar hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 77thth minute of the game Marcelino Mancio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lescanos's Severiano Merexildo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Melquiades Tomi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Hipolito Lluciano when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Etxekopar in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hipolito Lluciano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Marcelino Mancio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severiano Merexildo was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. If Agustin Lluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Lescanos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lescanos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
