Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfonso Rosio started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute of the match Bernardino Abarca shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Horacio Ponc showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 3rd minute, Vladimiro Nesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Horacio Ponc came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Altamirano's Aquiles Ramond. But to his dismay, Aquiles Ramond quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After having played for 13 minutes, Alfonso Rosio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gualeguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfonso Rosio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfonso Rosio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Silvio Fraco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, Gualeguay's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Fernandes came free, but Horacio Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horacio Ponc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Fernandes in the 23rd minute of play. Alfonso Rosio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Horacio Ponc made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Aquiles Ramond sent off a good shot on target. If Jairo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Gualeguay's Horacio Ponc got control of the ball when Aquiles Ramond tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jairo Fernandes made a kick off. After some careless play in the Gualeguay defense, Aquiles Ramond kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horacio Ponc. The Gualeguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horacio Ponc should have stopped the shot. Jairo Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Horacio Ponc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nemesio Franco's late challenge caught a Altamirano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nemesio Franco helped the player get up and apologised. Nemesio Franco hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Jairo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Altamirano booed when Gualeguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Piorno didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Alfonso Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Alfonso Rosio took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Silvio Fraco to make any attempt to save it. Silvio Fraco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Olo in the 91st minute of play. If Jairo Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jairo Fernandes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horacio Ponc was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
