After having played for 11 minutes, Nunez Dabi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zárate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nunez Dabi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pueyrredón 's German Urtzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nunez Dabi in the 12th minute of play. Esteban Cordarin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. German Urtzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nunez Dabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benedicto Curcio's late challenge caught a Pueyrredón 's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benedicto Curcio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Zárate FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Benedicto Curcio hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Ciriaco Peli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo Ekialde was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Domingo Bizen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Ekialde was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Domingo Bizen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Jairo Ekialde made a huge save. If Domingo Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. German Urtzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esteban Cordarin's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Nunez Dabi scored 1-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of German Urtzi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Esteban Cordarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. German Urtzi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domingo Bizen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Domingo Bizen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Deunoro charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leandro Deunoro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leandro Deunoro kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Zárate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ciriaco Peli came free, but Jairo Ekialde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pueyrredón 's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ramiro Maidana in the 50th minute. Ramiro Maidana made a great header on Pueyrredón 's corner, it was just that Zárate FC's Jairo Ekialde managed to reach the ball for a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciriaco Peli made a kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Ciriaco Peli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zárate FC's Jairo Ekialde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes Zárate FC got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Dabi. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zárate FC's goalkeeper Jairo Ekialde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ciriaco Peli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Zárate FC's zone, Domingo Bizen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Ekialde came out of the goal and Domingo Bizen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. German Urtzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Cordarin in the 78th minute of the match. Esteban Cordarin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Urtzi having to interfere. Ciriaco Peli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Ekialde having to interfere. Jairo Ekialde came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Pueyrredón 's Ciriaco Peli. But to his dismay, Ciriaco Peli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Domingo Bizen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Ekialde having to interfere. Domingo Bizen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jairo Ekialde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zárate FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
