Lucio Xabier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Guillerme, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 17 played minutes Uquía FC got a freekick which was hit by Honorio Bittor. Leonardo Estebe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucio Xabier having to interfere. After 22 minutes of play, Concepción FC's Venancio Guillerme made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucio Xabier was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Leonardo Estebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucio Xabier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Venancio Guillerme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucio Xabier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonardo Estebe's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Uquía FC's Lino Arias got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lino Arias during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lino Arias hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Concepción FC's Everardo Sauveur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Manilan in the 41st minute of play.

When Venancio Guillerme came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Concepción FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Venancio Guillerme couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uquía FC's goalkeeper Lucio Xabier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lino Arias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Honorio Bittor hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Roman Aurre was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 65th minute, Miguel Lleir hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Concepción FC's Leonardo Estebe got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Uquía FC's zone, Venancio Guillerme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucio Xabier came out of the goal and Venancio Guillerme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Miguel Lleir was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Uquía FC's Miguel Lleir got a free kick in the 71st minute. The corner ended in Roman Aurre almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uquía FC's Lucio Xabier did a great save. Lucio Xabier made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Leonardo Estebe sent off a good shot on target. Leonardo Estebe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucio Xabier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Guillerme, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The Concepción FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Concepción FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
