The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 21st minute, Elias Normando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Astrada in the 25th minute of play forced Vértiz's goalkeeper Julian Abarca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute Jaime Astrada shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Redonda FC booed when Vértiz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Normando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Salvador Erruki to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Vértiz's Elias Normando made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Haroldo Manex was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 56th match minute, Vértiz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Erruki to maneuver through the defense. Carolo Pueblo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Inocencio Refugio kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Elias Normando struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Haroldo Manex didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vértiz. Generoso Maura's late challenge caught a Vértiz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Generoso Maura helped the player get up and apologised. Generoso Maura kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If Jaime Astrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Redonda FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vértiz.
