The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Isidoro Xabat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Manuel Arce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 8th minute, Jesus Jacindo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Arce was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Serafin Gurutz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Manuel Arce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeronimo Ponciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baldomero Firman in the 19th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PEÑAROL JOSE MENDOZA's zone, Miguel Steven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Arce came out of the goal and Miguel Steven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PEÑAROL JOSE MENDOZA's Manuel Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafin Gurutz in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL JOSE MENDOZA's goal looked a bit too open when Christian Feliu came free, but Manuel Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ombucta FC's Napoleon Rode slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manuel Arce. That made the score 3-0 after 30 minutes of play. When Serafin Gurutz fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ombucta FC's protests and gave Serafin Gurutz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 33rd minute, Serafin Gurutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ombucta FC's Miguel Steven got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Manuel Arce managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Ombucta FC's Isidoro Xabat fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st match minute, Ombucta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Feliu to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL JOSE MENDOZA's Baldomero Firman broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Jesus Jacindo fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ombucta FC's protests and gave Jesus Jacindo a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ombucta FC! Miguel Steven struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Manuel Arce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ombucta FC. If Christian Feliu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Modesto Librado hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ombucta FC had played much better football throughout.
