An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Rubio in the 7th minute of play forced ★ Banfield 1896 ★'s goalkeeper Luisito Ciceron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Rubio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisito Ciceron having to interfere. 44 minutes into the game, Bert Moquin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leones Libertarios's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ★ Banfield 1896 ★ the free kick. After a rather tough play, Leones Libertarios's Bert Moquin got a free kick in the 44th minute. Natalio Gurutz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carter Cardella read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Vinicio Franco hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amadeo Esiquio to strike the kick off in the second half. Carter Cardella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinicio Franco in the 51st minute of the match. ★ Banfield 1896 ★'s Romelu Lukaku got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Cosimo Cicchini hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bert Moquin got free with Luisito Ciceron in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 63 minutes, Natalio Gurutz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ★ Banfield 1896 ★ and the Leones Libertarios players grew even worse after the yellow card. Natalio Gurutz kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Christian Rubio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luisito Ciceron came out and tried to block the shot, but Christian Rubio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 65th minute.
