The referee ignored AS MAS's protests and gave Felix Gines a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Felix Gines hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Ildefonso Pasqual's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ramiro Vedillo was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. A collision led to Phoenix Athletic getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ettore Marcolongo hit a great ball. When Mariano Cordeara came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the AS MAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Cordeara couldn't finish the play. Ramiro Vedillo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ildefonso Pasqual in the 18th minute. Edelmiro Pagomari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramiro Vedillo having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Lucio Roldanillo notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of AS MAS's Ramiro Vedillo. Ramiro Vedillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 34 minutes into the match, Lucio Roldanillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ramiro Vedillo. AS MAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucio Roldanillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ramiro Vedillo was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Ildefonso Pasqual capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ildefonso Pasqual really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. Phoenix Athletic's Amancio Abreu suffered a sore thigh after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Phoenix Athletic made a substitution. Norberto Barto replaced Amancio Abreu. Mariano Cordeara hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ildefonso Pasqual made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, Bernardino Elorri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AS MAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Phoenix Athletic the free kick. In the 56th minute, Bernardino Elorri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramiro Vedillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Pasqual in the 60th minute of play. After 63 minutes, Salvador Clodio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AS MAS and the Phoenix Athletic players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Phoenix Athletic booed when AS MAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Clodio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Lucio Roldanillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramiro Vedillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ramiro Vedillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucio Roldanillo in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Mariano Cordeara made a precise shot to the right of Dimitri Leconte. Phoenix Athletic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. Ildefonso Pasqual scored 7-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramiro Vedillo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 85 minutes of play, Phoenix Athletic's Ildefonso Pasqual made it 8-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ramiro Vedillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! 90 minutes into the game, Edelmiro Pagomari cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-1. Ramiro Vedillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ildefonso Pasqual might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramiro Vedillo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ildefonso Pasqual ran back to his position shaking his head. AS MAS's Ramiro Vedillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ildefonso Pasqual in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Phoenix Athletic had played much better football throughout.
