The audience thought a goal was coming when Lisandro Estebe got free with Epifanio Abancens in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Esteban Arnalt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute Carolo Mazuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Abancens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Racing Club's goal looked a bit too open when Albeiro Usuriaga came free, but Epifanio Abancens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Santamarina's Albeiro Usuriaga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Albeiro Usuriaga struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Epifanio Abancens didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santamarina. Bruno Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esteban Arnalt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Uriel Etxatxu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Mazza was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Epifanio Abancens made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Lisandro Estebe sent off a good shot on target. When Uriel Etxatxu came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Club Atlético Racing Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Uriel Etxatxu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Santamarina booed when Club Atlético Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Tercero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th match minute, Club Atlético Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomasz Napierkowski to maneuver through the defense. When Narciso Gines fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Racing Club's protests and gave Narciso Gines a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Narciso Gines hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benedicto Lico kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Esteban Arnalt made a kick off. Bruno Mazza stood somewhat misplaced when Esteban Arnalt came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 53 minute. Esteban Arnalt scored 1-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Mazza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee showed Remond Hoezen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Club Atlético Racing Club booed when Santamarina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remond Hoezen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th match minute, Club Atlético Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Cristos to maneuver through the defense. Epifanio Abancens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Estebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Arnalt in the 82nd minute of play forced Santamarina's goalkeeper Bruno Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Club Atlético Racing Club were awarded a corner. Esteban Arnalt went to the cornerflag to take it. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Esteban Arnalt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Club Atlético Racing Club were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Santamarina side.
