An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Hitz in the 8th minute of play forced EmmA's goalkeeper Melker Vennerlund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute of the match EmmA got a corner. Black Rose 1979's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Anastasio Sugoi ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 16th match minute, EmmA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Otsando to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of EmmA booed when Black Rose 1979 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Venceslao didn't get a good kick on the ball. Göktürk Başbuğs short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Karl-Johan Ahlqvist to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Melker Vennerlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo-Nicolás Pérez in the 23rd minute of the match. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Mendebal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Black Rose 1979's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastian Enekoitz in the 36th minute. It was a well-played corner which Davor Šuker managed to volley towards the net. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anibal Mendebal, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Leonel Guifre kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Sebastian Enekoitz struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Melker Vennerlund didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Rose 1979. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
