Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Patrick Shephard started the match with the kick off. In the 5th match minute, Somivac fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Brewer to maneuver through the defense. Rod Chamberlain was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 6th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Somivac fc's Keiran Boxall in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rising Bridge AFC's goalie prevented a goal. Somivac fc's Keiran Boxall got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Somivac fc booed when Rising Bridge AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Archer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Shaun Nethercoat managed to get in a good position for a shot. Somivac fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Shaun Nethercoat was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Trevor Archer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rising Bridge AFC's Trevor Archer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keiran Boxall in the 24th minute of play. After some careless play in the Rising Bridge AFC defense, Keiran Boxall kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Trevor Archer. The Rising Bridge AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Trevor Archer should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the game, Gerry Davey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jasper Sissons was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 34th minute, Shaun Nethercoat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Somivac fc's Shaun Nethercoat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trevor Archer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leon Archer was shown his second yellow card after 42 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 43rd minute, Leon Archer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Somivac fc's Aaron Brewer broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Trevor Archer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keiran Boxall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Shaun Nethercoat stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rising Bridge AFC's zone, Shaun Nethercoat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trevor Archer came out of the goal and Shaun Nethercoat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Keiran Boxall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trevor Archer having to interfere. In the 55th minute, one of Rising Bridge AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rising Bridge AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Rising Bridge AFC's zone, Shaun Nethercoat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Trevor Archer came out of the goal and Shaun Nethercoat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the game, Keiran Boxall lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Trevor Archer. In the 71st minute, Fred Day got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phil Hallam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Sissons having to interfere. When Shaun Nethercoat came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Somivac fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shaun Nethercoat couldn't finish the play. Trevor Archer was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Shaun Nethercoat capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Shaun Nethercoat really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Trevor Archer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shaun Nethercoat's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. After 83 played minutes Rising Bridge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Patrick Holyfield. Keiran Boxall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shaun Nethercoat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 92 in the game by Keiran Boxall from a close distance when the talented Trevor Archer managed to make a qualified save. Rising Bridge AFC's players were relieved. Trevor Archer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Keiran Boxall in the 94th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Somivac fc's Shaun Nethercoat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trevor Archer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Rising Bridge AFC's Mick Chegwyn got a free kick in the 97th minute. Somivac fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
