Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Mike Fleetham made the kick off which started today's match. Brandon Laycock's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lee Radcliffe firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mike Fleetham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frankie Whitford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Paget, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Lee Radcliffe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Fleetham in the 9th minute of play. Don Paget fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frankie Whitford having to interfere. Lee Radcliffe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mike Fleetham in the 23rd minute of the match. Mike Fleetham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Brandon Laycock could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Lee Radcliffe however easily saved by the left post. The corner led Helsby's Alfie Grantham to fire away a dangerous shot which Lee Radcliffe despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Mike Fleetham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kristopher Maloney struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Lee Radcliffe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Helsby. Don Paget struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. A wasted opportunity for Farnham. 37 minutes into the game, Kristopher Maloney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Helsby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Farnham the free kick. After a rather tough play, Helsby's Kristopher Maloney got a free kick in the 37th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
51 minutes into the match, Farnham's goal looked a bit too open when Mike Fleetham came free, but Lee Radcliffe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 54 minutes of play, Helsby's Brandon Laycock made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lee Radcliffe was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Farnham getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Leon Blackwell hit a great ball. Don Paget sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Helsby defense, Don Paget kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frankie Whitford. The Helsby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frankie Whitford should have stopped the shot. Lee Radcliffe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brandon Laycock went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mike Fleetham in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lee Radcliffe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jordan Downes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nathan Ansell hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Leon Blackwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
