Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Gnýr Elmarsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. Melavík Garðabæ's Þjóðmar Leifsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vikar Eðvarsson in the 5th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Methúsalem Dagbjartsson during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gnýr Elmarsson in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mekkinó Þrándsson saved Mark Suðureyri from getting behind. In the 24th minute Vikar Eðvarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Þjóðmar Leifsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gnýr Elmarsson in the 28th minute of play forced Mark Suðureyri's goalkeeper Mekkinó Þrándsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ellert Þorvaldsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Þjóðmar Leifsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vikar Eðvarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Gnýr Elmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mekkinó Þrándsson having to interfere. The supporters of Melavík Garðabæ booed when Mark Suðureyri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esra Daníelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vikar Eðvarsson fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mark Suðureyri's protests and gave Vikar Eðvarsson a yellow card for diving instead. When Marel Heimisson came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Melavík Garðabæ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marel Heimisson couldn't finish the play.
After 56 minutes of play, Melavík Garðabæ's Gnýr Elmarsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mekkinó Þrándsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Esra Daníelsson in the 61st minute of play forced Melavík Garðabæ's goalkeeper Þjóðmar Leifsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Melavík Garðabæ's goalkeeper Þjóðmar Leifsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ellert Þorvaldsson. After having played for 64 minutes, Marel Heimisson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melavík Garðabæ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marel Heimisson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ellert Þorvaldsson got free with Þjóðmar Leifsson in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 67th match minute, Melavík Garðabæ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geirólfur Bjarmarsson to maneuver through the defense. Melavík Garðabæ's Þjóðmar Leifsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Melavík Garðabæ from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Vikar Eðvarsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Þjóðmar Leifsson. That made the score 1-1 in the 70 minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mark Suðureyri fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Ellert Þorvaldsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Þjóðmar Leifsson having to interfere. Rannver Ragnarsson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Vikar Eðvarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Melavík Garðabæ's zone, Ellert Þorvaldsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Þjóðmar Leifsson came out of the goal and Ellert Þorvaldsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
