The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Elí Árnason succeeded in the game's 3rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. In the 10th minute, Finngeir Gunnlaugsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Steindór Hingsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geirfinnur Guðleifsson in the 13th minute of play. Finngeir Gunnlaugsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geirfinnur Guðleifsson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 23rdth minute, Steindór Hingsson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Högni Unnarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Steindór Hingsson made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Finngeir Gunnlaugsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Högni Unnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hrafnbergur Eiríksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elí Árnason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Finngeir Gunnlaugsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Finngeir Gunnlaugsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Flateyri's supporters rose to their feet, but Finngeir Gunnlaugsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steindór Hingsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Aladin Garði were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elí Árnason made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Aladin Garði's goal looked a bit too open when Finngeir Gunnlaugsson came free, but Steindór Hingsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Högni Unnarsson sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elí Árnason in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hrafnbergur Eiríksson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Aladin Garði's goalkeeper Steindór Hingsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Högni Unnarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nova Flateyri's Hrafnbergur Eiríksson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Nova Flateyri from getting a goal against them. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Elí Árnason capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Elí Árnason really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Aladin Garði's Steindór Hingsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finngeir Gunnlaugsson in the 76th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Finngeir Gunnlaugsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Flateyri's supporters rose to their feet, but Finngeir Gunnlaugsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Högni Unnarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aladin Garði's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
