The crowd rose to their feet as Arnúlfur Hlöðversson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ingi Hallmundsson. That made the score 1-0 in the 24 minute of play. With a little luck, Afköst Mývatni's Ingi Hallmundsson got control of the ball when Ketill Þorbjörnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Afköst Mývatni's Hildiglúmur Axelsson got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hildiglúmur Axelsson scored 1-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Orvar Styrmisson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Hildiglúmur Axelsson made the kick off in the second half. The Brúarás fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Afköst Mývatni were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
