Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ráðgeir Jóhannesson got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th match minute, Nova Hólmavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingjaldur Garpsson to maneuver through the defense. After 9 minutes of play, Hellas Vogum's Ósvaldur Franklínsson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Auðólfur Arnljótsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nova Hólmavík's Auðólfur Arnljótsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ráðgeir Jóhannesson in the 13th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nova Hólmavík's zone, Ósvaldur Franklínsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Auðólfur Arnljótsson came out of the goal and Ósvaldur Franklínsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Hlynur Einarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oddmar Davíðsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hlynur Einarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Sófónías Georgsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ráðgeir Jóhannesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Auðólfur Arnljótsson having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Hringur Hafbergsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Auðólfur Arnljótsson. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Hlynur Einarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oddmar Davíðsson having to interfere. If Sófónías Georgsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oddmar Davíðsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hlynur Einarsson went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Hlynur Einarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Oddmar Davíðsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sófónías Georgsson was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hlynur Einarsson got free with Oddmar Davíðsson in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sófónías Georgsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oddmar Davíðsson having to interfere. Ingjaldur Garpsson hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Ósvaldur Franklínsson struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Auðólfur Arnljótsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hellas Vogum. Oddmar Davíðsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernir Almarsson in the 69th minute. After some careless play in the Hellas Vogum defense, Sófónías Georgsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oddmar Davíðsson. The Hellas Vogum fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oddmar Davíðsson should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Sófónías Georgsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Hólmavík's supporters rose to their feet, but Sófónías Georgsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oddmar Davíðsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Ósvaldur Franklínsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hellas Vogum's supporters rose to their feet, but Ósvaldur Franklínsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. If Ráðgeir Jóhannesson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Nova Hólmavík's goal looked a bit too open when Ósvaldur Franklínsson came free, but Auðólfur Arnljótsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 96 minutes, Ráðgeir Jóhannesson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hellas Vogum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ráðgeir Jóhannesson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Auðólfur Arnljótsson had in the 99thth minute some difficulties stopping Eyþór Heimisson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Nova Hólmavík's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
