Jónatan Guðmarsson started the match with the kick off. Enok Hrolleifsson hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Saxi Grímsson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Brimar Arndórsson fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STJ Ísland's protests and gave Brimar Arndórsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Grimmu Nautin booed when STJ Ísland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brimar Arndórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to STJ Ísland getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Enok Hrolleifsson hit a great ball. Herlaugur Bjargmundarson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barði Níelsson having to interfere. Herlaugur Bjargmundarson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Barði Níelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hólmgeir Einvarðsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Skírnir Pálmason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jónatan Guðmarsson came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Grimmu Nautin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jónatan Guðmarsson couldn't finish the play. STJ Ísland's Skírnir Pálmason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hólmgeir Einvarðsson in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Jónatan Guðmarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grimmu Nautin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 34th minute Jónatan Guðmarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Skírnir Pálmason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hólmgeir Einvarðsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herlaugur Bjargmundarson made a kick off. After 58 minutes of play, STJ Ísland's Sebastían Knútsson made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barði Níelsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Barði Níelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herlaugur Bjargmundarson in the 68th minute of play. Sebastían Knútsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Finngeir Traustason hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Finngeir Traustason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When STJ Ísland's Sebastían Knútsson in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grimmu Nautin's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grimmu Nautin's zone, Herlaugur Bjargmundarson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barði Níelsson came out of the goal and Herlaugur Bjargmundarson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Grimmu Nautin's Jónatan Guðmarsson got a free kick in the 85th minute. Jónatan Guðmarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skírnir Pálmason having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, STJ Ísland's goalkeeper Skírnir Pálmason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hólmgeir Einvarðsson. When STJ Ísland's Herlaugur Bjargmundarson in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grimmu Nautin's goalie prevented a goal. Sebastían Knútsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. STJ Ísland's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
