But to his dismay, Sigsteinn Valbergsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Sigsteinn Valbergsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sigsteinn Valbergssons short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Marías Hrólfsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Skífan Þórshöfn's zone, Sigsteinn Valbergsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marías Hrólfsson came out of the goal and Sigsteinn Valbergsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Snær Hauksson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sigsteinn Valbergsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marías Hrólfsson having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Skífan Þórshöfn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björgólfur Rafnkelsson to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of máni booed when Skífan Þórshöfn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Þorvarður Reimarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Sigsteinn Valbergsson came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the máni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigsteinn Valbergsson couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, Snær Hauksson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marías Hrólfsson, 2-0. In the 34th minute Hergils Hallmundsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marías Hrólfsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigsteinn Valbergsson in the 41st minute. Erlar Vífilsson's late challenge caught a Skífan Þórshöfn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erlar Vífilsson helped the player get up and apologised. After 42 played minutes máni got a freekick which was hit by Erlar Vífilsson. In the 43rd minute Elimar Dalmarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Snær Hauksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Marías Hrólfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Snær Hauksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Snær Hauksson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Snær Hauksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sigsteinn Valbergsson took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marías Hrólfsson. Marías Hrólfsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The supporters of Skífan Þórshöfn booed when máni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Snær Hauksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marías Hrólfsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Snær Hauksson, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Bent Björnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute of the match Anton Fannarsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marías Hrólfsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Skífan Þórshöfn's Björgólfur Rafnkelsson got a free kick in the 69th minute. Skífan Þórshöfn's Elimar Dalmarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 81 minutes into the match, Skífan Þórshöfn's goal looked a bit too open when Snær Hauksson came free, but Marías Hrólfsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marías Hrólfsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Snær Hauksson in the 83rd minute of the match. 86 minutes into the game, Snær Hauksson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Marías Hrólfsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When máni's Sigsteinn Valbergsson in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skífan Þórshöfn's goalie prevented a goal.
