The referee ignored máni's protests and gave Ástþór Fjalarsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, máni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ástþór Fjalarsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute Snær Hauksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Skírnir Pálmason saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the STJ Ísland defense, Sigsteinn Valbergsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Skírnir Pálmason. The STJ Ísland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Skírnir Pálmason should have stopped the shot. A collision led to máni getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Snær Hauksson hit a great ball. Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sebastían Knútsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 45 minute of play. After the first half máni were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Herlaugur Bjargmundarson to strike the kick off in the second half. Brimar Arndórsson hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 57thth minute of the game Snær Hauksson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but STJ Ísland's Skírnir Pálmason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. STJ Ísland's Skírnir Pálmason proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save STJ Ísland from getting a goal against them. In the 60th match minute, STJ Ísland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bjarnþór Runólfsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Snær Hauksson in the 61st minute of play forced STJ Ísland's goalkeeper Skírnir Pálmason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Snær Hauksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Skírnir Pálmason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sigsteinn Valbergsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skírnir Pálmason having to interfere. After a rather tough play, máni's Erlar Vífilsson got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Snær Hauksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herlaugur Bjargmundarson in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geirþjófur Bjarmarsson saved máni from getting behind. Snær Hauksson took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Skírnir Pálmason. Skírnir Pálmason dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. The STJ Ísland fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. máni were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
