Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Álfgeir Sveinþórsson started the match with the kick off. Ármann Janusson struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Bjarki Björgólfsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Þróttur Flúðum. In the 5th minute, Marel Bogason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 6 minutes, Auðun Runólfsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ensku Tófurnar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Auðun Runólfsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Álfgeir Sveinþórsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bjarki Björgólfsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. If Álfgeir Sveinþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Þróttur Flúðum's zone, Úlrik Úlfarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lindberg Birgisson came out of the goal and Úlrik Úlfarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kalman Pálmason's late challenge caught a Ensku Tófurnar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kalman Pálmason helped the player get up and apologised. Kalman Pálmason hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Úlrik Úlfarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lindberg Birgisson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Úlrik Úlfarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ymir Jónþórsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lindberg Birgisson. Þróttur Flúðum's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lindberg Birgisson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðun Runólfsson in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Þróttur Flúðum's goalkeeper Lindberg Birgisson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Úlrik Úlfarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lindberg Birgisson having to interfere. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lindberg Birgisson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Þróttur Flúðum's Álfgeir Sveinþórsson got a free kick in the 61st minute. The supporters of Þróttur Flúðum booed when Ensku Tófurnar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Úlrik Úlfarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 98 minutes into the match, Þróttur Flúðum's goalkeeper Lindberg Birgisson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Auðun Runólfsson. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
