Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 57 minutes into the game, Sólbjörn Þorrason cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sigurbaldur Jónþórsson got free with Ársæll Hamarsson in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Virgo Flateyri:s Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason showed great skill when he stopped Arnviður Logason:s penalty. Kristþór Kristbergsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gumi Kolsson charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gumi Kolsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Virgo Flateyri getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gumi Kolsson hit a great ball. Sólbjörn Þorrason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Virgo Flateyri got a freekick which was hit by Jeremías Hjálmtýsson. After a defensive mix-up in Virgo Flateyri's zone, Jenni Randversson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason came out of the goal and Jenni Randversson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ársæll Hamarsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigurbaldur Jónþórsson in the 77th minute. If Sigurbaldur Jónþórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sigurgísli Guðbjarnason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jenni Randversson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sigurbaldur Jónþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ársæll Hamarsson having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
