Konstantínus Níelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tröð Bíldudal's Kristbergur Þormóðsson got a free kick in the 21st minute. Guttormur Egilsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikolas Hingsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Hugo Sigfússon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Konstantínus Níelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hugo Sigfússon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Sigfússon in the 45th minute of play forced Tröð Bíldudal's goalkeeper Konstantínus Níelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert Kjartansson struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Konstantínus Níelsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Bull Iceland. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Sigfússon was the one to do the kick off. Tröð Bíldudal's Konstantínus Níelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Sigfússon in the 52nd minute of play. Franklín Jósepsson hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Gilbert Kjartansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantínus Níelsson having to interfere.
